Dress for Violette / Robe pour Violette

Violette (6 years old) spent a few days with me, and was quick to take the opportunity of my love of sewing to order a custom piece. We went down to my fabric room (yes I have one, it is very small, but still I have one) & she selected the lovely fabric below. I was glad that she has finally moved on from pink. The purple, turquoise & yellow will look lovely with her dark hair.
I used pattern 6 for the tunic on the cover of the book of Japanese patterns "Sewing Recipe for Girl's" (cringing as the 's). The tunic is actually shown below on the cover of the book. I just made it longer so Violette could wear it as a dress.

Close up on the raglan sleeve.
Gros plan sur la manche raglan.
The collar was simply made by putting some elastic through some matching bias ribbon at the top of the dress.
A really simple pattern, very quick to make. I can't wait to hear feedback from my little customer.

Violet Jacket for Violette

Fall is here, and Violette being a very demanding customer wanted something stylist & warm to wear to school. Here is my first winter creation for her: a cute jacket from the Japanese book of patterns "Girly Style Wardrobe", pattern D.

Vivi has a huge interest in fashion at an early age. She is always the very happy recipients of all my creations & therefore I have now become her official Parisian stylist.
