Ikea hack / Détournement Ikea

Ikea's Skala tray & some little handles to create a necklace holder. The tray is actually quite wide (17 inches of diameter) so this will double up as a fun piece of art on your wall.
First paint a tree, drill a few holes and scatter the handles. The little handles will be little fruit on the tree to hang the necklaces from.
I did not come up with this craft idea, unfortunately I could not find the source, so I can't give credit where it's due.

Supplies: tray & hardware (Ikea), paint (Liberon)
Fournitures: plateau & poignées (Ikea), peintures (Liberon)

  1. This is fabulous! Whoever came up with it is genius :) I love that you tried to credit the original source, even if you were unable to. It seems as though a lot of bloggers don't do that. Thanks for including me on your blogroll; I am so flattered!

  2. Thanks Lia, still looking for the source (pretty sure this is something I found via Stumbleupon). Credit should be given where it's due, that's what creates the fun sense of community amongst all the creative blogs.
    Keep up the good work!
