Supplies: antique finish metal buttons, crystals, small enameled pendants, connecting rings and earring hooks.
Fournitures: boutons en métal, cristaux, petites breloques émaillés, anneaux de connexions et crochets d'oreilles.

Supplies: fast drying craft glue and pliers.

I hid the button holes with the crystals.

On the road - Las Vegas / Sur la route - Las Vegas

I have been traveling more or less non-stop since the beginning of the year so I haven't had much time for some homemade creations, but I have a few that are almost completed, so I will be posting soon some new DYI projects. In the meantime I thought I would post some of the fun shopping places I uncovered during my travels. First stop, Las Vegas with Williams Costume, a family-owned business selling costumes & supplies for costumes (fabric, rhinestones, sequins, ribbons, and much more) for almost 60 years.
Je voyage plus ou moins non stop depuis le début de l'année, et je n'ai pas eu beaucoup de temps pour des créations maisons, cependant j'en ai quelques-unes en cours, donc patience un billet sur une création maison ne devrait pas tarder. En attendant, je vais partager quelques bonnes adresses shopping des ces voyages récents. Premier arrêt, Las Vegas chez Williams Costume, une maison familiale qui existe depuis bientôt 60 ans spécialisée dans les costumes et les fournitures pour créer des costumes (tissus, strass, paillettes, rubans, et pleins d'autres choses).

At the rhinestone counter, the very friendly & knowledgeable Glenda, with the best job title in the entire universe. Within a few seconds of chatting with her, I knew I would be in the store for a while. Happy place...

Au comptoir des strass, la très affable et compétente Glenda avec le meilleur intitulé de poste de tout l'univers ("Je suis Glenda, Reine des Strass"). A peine quelques secondes dans la conversation, et je savais que j'allais passer un bon moment dans le magasin.

A nice selection of fabrics, but more appropriate for costumes. Of course if you love neon spandex, go for it!

Une très bonne sélection de tissus, mais plus appropriés pour des costumes. Mais si vous aimez le lycra fluo n'hésitez pas!

I got some sparkly ribbons that will be perfect for edges of jackets or headbands.

J'ai acheté une selection de rubans qui brillent qui seront parfaits pour des rebords de vestes ou des bandeaux pour les cheveux.

Very kitsch & wide ribbon. Not quite sure where this will end up, but the delightful retro vibe was hard to ignore.

Un ruban très kitsch et très large. Je ne suis pas sûre de savoir où il va finir, mais son côté très rétro était irrésistible. 

Hat veiling... because you never know when you might need some?
De la voilette pour chapeau... parce qu'on sait jamais quand ça pourra servir?

Arrow / Flèche

A very simple project for this sunday: you will need chain, and arrow charm, and an oval ring (not shown two small connecting rings to link the arrow & the oval to the chain).
Un projet très simple en ce dimanche: il vous faudra de la chaine, un pendentif "flèche", et un anneau ovale (sur la photo il manque deux petits anneaux pour connecter la flèche et l'anneau ovale à la chaine).

I will alter it to add a clasp at the end of the large oval ring. The chain is fairly solid & I have no intention of strangulating my self with one of my creations!
Je vais modifier le collier pour ajouter un fermoir au bout de l'anneau oval. La chaine est plutôt solide, et je n'ai aucunement l'intention de m'étrangler avec une des mes créations!

Neon new year / Nouvelle année fluo

Starting the new year like I end last one, with glue & rhinestones for a project inspired by these Marni earrings:

I brought back every possible color!

J'ai ramené toutes les couleurs disponibles!

I used the bead caps as the base for the main part of the earring. I glued the neon pink rhinestone in the middle & around it a small strand of rhinestones.
J'ai utilisé des coupelles pour créer une base pour la partie principale de mes boucles d'oreilles. J'ai collé le cristal rose fluo au milieu, puis je l'ai entouré des plus petits cristaux.

For the dangling piece, I glued behind the bigger rhinestone a small flat charm to have a hook to assemble the entire earring.
Pour la partie pendante, j'ai collé une petite breloque en métal à l'arrière du plus gros cristal, afin d'avoir un crochet pour pouvoir assembler la boucle d'oreille.

I added a skull to tone down the "Barbie" effect of the neon pink, and here is the result:
J'ai ajouté un petit crâne pour atténuer l'effet "Barbie" du rose fluo, et voici le résultat:

I gathered a few of my favorite things: sewing, travel, keys, skulls (!) & other random pretty things.
J'ai rassemblé quelques-unes de mes choses préférées: couture, voyages, clefs, crânes (!) et autres jolies choses.

The larger key & the metal key holes are actually from the hardware store. Look around, between the chain, rope, keys, and key holes there are a lot of treasures to include in your DIY creations.
Le plus grosse clef & les trous de serrure en métal viennent du magasin de bricolage. Les magasins de bricolage regorgent de trésors,  n'hésitez pas à vous approvisionner en cordes, chaines, clefs, trous de serrures etc... pour vos créations.
