More pencils cases / Des trousses & encore des trousses

Mass production of pensil cases seems to be the solution to use my fabric surplus (right...). Here are the latest creations, made to order & customized to make the little boys happy.
La production en masse de trousses semble être la solution à l'utilisation de mon surplus de tissus (ouais...). Voici les dernières créations, fait sur commande pour satisfaire mes petits clients.

Patch "Cars": found at H&M (they have all the favorites: Hello Kitty, Disney characters, Spiderman, etc)

Doily or trendy? / Napperon ou fashion?

A thrift shop find goes from doily to trendy: the hand crocheted vest was lovely but the color very bland and reminiscent of a doily. A dye later it will be a key fall wardrobe item for Miss Violette.
Une trouvaille dans une boutique Emmaus retrouve une seconde vie: la veste en crochet était un peu tristounette et ressemblait plutôt à un napperon. Une teinture plus tard, transformation en veste tendance pour la garde-robe d'automne de Mlle Violette.

How to - Pencil Case / Tutorial - Trousse

Picture #1: Supplies
- Use 2 pieces of left-over fabric (10x12 inches for this project)
- 10 inches zipper
- A fun patch to decorate
Picture #2: Sewing of the zipper on one of the 10 inches side
- Lining fabric right side up
- Zipper right side up
- Outside fabric wrong side up
- See next picture #3 to see how this should look
Picture #3: Sewing of one edge
- Sew at 1/4 of an inch of the edge
Picture #4: 
- Turn the fabric around & iron the first edge

Picture #1: Sewing of the other edge
- Sew the other edge at 1/4 of an inch of the edge
- Do not forget to leave the zipper half open
Picture #2: Sewing of the other sides
- Sew each side
- Do not forget to leave a 2 inch opening in the lining ("Ouverture" on the picture)
Picture #3:
- Pull the project through the 2 inch opening to see the right side of the fabric
- Close the 2 inch opening
Picture #4: the result!
- Finally put the lining inside through the open zipper (now you know why this had to be open!)

Left-over dress/ Restes en robe

I have made quite a few dresses in these past few weeks to survive the heat surge in Paris. One of my projects in what is to-date my favorite summer fabric gave me enough left-over fabric to make a summer dress for a certain 4-year old fashonista niece of mine. I used the G pattern on the "Girly Stylish Wardrobe" book of Japanese patterns & lenghtened it by 5 cm to make it a dress.
Ces dernières semaines pour lutter contre la chaleur parisienne, je couds des robes à la chaine. Un de mes derniers projets dans mon tissu préféré du moment, m'a laissé des restes de tissu juste assez grands pour faire une petite robe d'été pour une certaine nièce "fashion-victim". J'ai utilisé la patron G du "Girly Stylish Wardrobe", que j'ai allongé de 5 cm pour transformer en robe.

I really need to get some of the green Liberty Mitsi fabric by the yard to make a project for me. I absolutely love the pring & the tone of green.

I faut absolument que je mette le main sur du Liberty Mitsi au mètre pour me coudre quelque chose. J'adore le motif & la tonalité du vert.
