Ikea hack / Détournement Ikea

Ikea's Skala tray & some little handles to create a necklace holder. The tray is actually quite wide (17 inches of diameter) so this will double up as a fun piece of art on your wall.
Un plateau Skala d'Ikea et des petites poignées pour créer un porte collier du plus bel effet. Le plateau est plutôt large (44 cm de diamètre), donc le porte bijou fera donc aussi office de décoration murale.
First paint a tree, drill a few holes and scatter the handles. The little handles will be little fruit on the tree to hang the necklaces from.
Peignez un arbre, percez quelques trous et éparpillez les poignées. Les petites poignées sont les fruits sur l'arbre auxquels vous pourrez pendre les colliers.
I did not come up with this craft idea, unfortunately I could not find the source, so I can't give credit where it's due.
L'idée n'est pas de moi, hélas je n'ai pas retrouvé d'où venait l'idée d'origine.

Supplies: tray & hardware (Ikea), paint (Liberon)
Fournitures: plateau & poignées (Ikea), peintures (Liberon)

Dandelion inspiration

The dandelion design is appearing in a lot of places these days. One of my favorite Liberty fabric uses it for its "Fairy Clock" design:

After major shopping a Shaukat http://www.shaukat.co.uk/Liberty.asp (the online service is seamless & the shop is fantastic with a huge variety of fabrics more than a certain store where you would expect more) I finally made a top out of the fabric (Pattern B from the Japanese pattern book "Stylish Dress Book 1"):

It's also a ceiling lamp I may just have to buy at Ikea. Not sure what I would do with it, maybe I will wear it on my head for Halloween & fly away in the Parisian skies...
Meantime it is in my virtual living room on the Ikea website http://www.moi-et-monsalon.com/:
